Investigations Director/Co-Principal

Tim Sandler is by Co-Principal and Director of Investigations at Transparentem, a non-profit unit that uses investigative reporting and forensic methods to illuminate supply chains and spur eradication of human and environmental abuses.

Sandler was previously an award-winning supervising producer for the NBC News investigative unit with extensive experience in broadcast, print, and digital media. He spent more than 20 years investigating human rights, environmental, and supply-chain abuses across the world. Sandler developed technology-enhanced reporting strategies for NBC News, and conducted hidden camera and surveillance operations for enterprise reports that aired across all of NBC’s broadcast and digital platforms. He also spearheaded NBC’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle news gathering project. 

Sandler’s honors include four national Emmy awards, three Overseas Press Club of America awards, and the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Award.
