Wahyu Dhyatmika, Indonesia, is a managing editor at Tempo Newsroom, the newsgathering unit of Tempo Media Group. He is also an activist and a board member of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Indonesia, a journalists’ association and press union that promotes freedom of the press. Prior to his current appointment he was managing editor of Tempo’s Investigative Desk where he was involved in both in-country and cross-border investigations like SwissLeaks and Panama Papers. He has been involved in projects to develop Tempo’s own blog and social media platform called Indonesiana. He was also involved in developing the TempoSMS platform which is aimed at fostering citizen journalism among local and marginalised communities. He is currently engaged with Tempo’s digital transformation and newsroom convergence. He has participated in the Final Editor’s Lab hackathon in Vienna and has been instrumental in organising Indonesia’s first ever media hackathon.
