Surendra Paudel is a senior correspondent with Nepal Republic Media (P) Ltd., where he has worked since 2009. His feature stories and investigative reports have focused on foreign affairs, defense, the peace process, foreign employment, and human trafficking. He won the 2012 Investigative Journalism Award in Nepal, jointly given by the British Embassy and Centre for Investigative Journalism. He was also honored with an "Award for Exemplary News Professionals in Developing Countries" for exposing how the number of Nepalis being smuggled to foreign countries by local brokers is skyrocketing.
