Below you will find more than 60 sessions and special events. There are panels on digging out hidden facts online, the environment, business, and how to fund your project; seminars on security and tracking dirty money; data journalism workshops by the best in the business; and much more.

You can follow us on Twitter at #IJAsia16. On behalf of your hosts — the Global Investigative Journalism Network, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, and the Centre for Investigative Journalism, Nepal, we wish you a big hello! Namaste!

Importing Data into Spreadsheets (Hands-on Training)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

There are three kinds of data on the Web usually imported into Microsoft Excel that are not in Excel format. They are fixed length, CSV (comma separated values) and PDFs. This session will show you how to import that data quickly so you can begin using the data for your reporting and stories. This kind of data is everywhere on the Web for every country and often free.

Those taking our hands-on data training should bring their own laptops or tablets and, if possible, have Microsoft Excel (the spreadsheet software) loaded on their computers.
