Undercover Reporting: When (and When Not) To Use

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

How do undercover reporters work? What is the risk? How far should we go and what can happen if you are caught? This panel will explore the techniques and the stories that great undercover investigative work can bring. To maximize a story's impact, gather evidence, and confront criminals and liars, hidden cameras and fake identities may be the only way. But does this damage the journalist's credibility? Should undercover work be the first resort or the last? Come hear three case studies of undercover reporting in India, Mongolia, and Nepal.
